Time it is a flying
It's the 18th already. I can hardly fathom it. I did another grocery haul today and it came to $100.26. I am over for this month by $40.26. As everything I purchased was needed, I think I need to adjust my grocery limit to $250.00 per month. Today, I really realized just how much prices have gone up since December. With what's going on in the world, I expect groceries along with everything else to keep going up. I am happy that we have a freezer and we have a garden available this year. All the foraging grips have died out over the past couple of years, so will have to keep my ears and eyes open for anything that comes up. I am not good with wild mushrooms. I just don't like the tastes.
Other than that, I am still working on the afghan. I will need to make jam soon as I am running out of room in the freezer. I will also need to get my daughter to bring over some more jam jars. I see I only have 4 half pint jars left. She is coming on the weekend, so that will be taken care of.
I use soup bones for my dog as bones. They work well. The last bunch of 4 had gone up from $5.89 to $8.99. Yes, they don't weigh the same, but it's not much difference in weight. I may be on the lookout to see if I can find them cheaper elsewhere. I would have to factor in the gas to look further away. Ah, but he loves them and the keep his teeth so nice and clean.

Groceries are continuing to go up, along with fuel prices; that's a fact of life, isn't it? Will you be able to increase your grocery budget?
ReplyDeleteI can increase my budget, but enjoy the challenge of seeing how low I can keep the budget and still have good wholesome meals
DeleteI have a feeling that even after the gas prices begin to drop, groceries will still be high. I have often found that when items go up they rarely come down. I hope you can increase your grocery budget and find a foraging group to join.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
