New Week

Well, all the birthdays are done for a few months. The last one we did with Mother's Day. We are into another week of cold weather so far. We haven't made it above 9C for quite awhile. Yesterday a d today we were to have 17C. But only made it to 7C. It would be okay if it wasn't so windy from the north. Of course up north there is still snow and ice around. So when the wind blows it reflects it. No pictures of the birthday and Mothers day. We all were lazy and it was a small gathering. Not sure what's up for the rest of the week. Seems like it's a week where I will take it day by day. Jean

Annoying

My neighbours upstairs vacuum 4 -5 times a day. Am I being anal, about the vacuuming or do you think it's a bit obsessive. They have a cat. Its a short hair. I think once a day would be good.  Annoyed at the weather. We are to get rain and snow over the next three days. I'm tired of weather. Annoyed that it cost me $102.49 to fill my gas tank yesterday. All I can. Say is these too will pass. Jean

April End

Let's see now. April was a cold month. Still snow. A bit of rain. Not much sunshine but two days where it it highs in the 20s C. We had Easter, a bunch of birthdays. A wedding shower. Oakley got groomed. I had a much needed hair cut. It seems like not much, but meeting up with daughter a few times and all the regular chores going on it was  lot. Financially it seemed like a big spend month but in reality it wasn't. I'm just used to not spending. I still had 20 no spend days. Not too bad. Now into May. Yesterday I spent $10 to get into a quilt show. Then I spent $12.30 on a couple of fat quarters. Today I spent $102.29 to fill my vehicle. I also spent $34 on two rakes and a package of garden waste bags. This I may get back as it was for working on The Golfers yard. I have  become the head gardener. There is lots to do. I stopped at the grocery store and spent $21.35 on groceries. Not a great end or start to these months. Jean

AHHH BREATH

We are about done with the Birthdays. One more to go in the close family. It was fun though but busy!  Today I took Oakley for grooming. I should have taken a picture but as usual forgot. She does such a good job on him. I took the time to get my curls lopped off too. I don't really like the style but it will get the curls more even front and back once it grows out. As I was heading out of the shop I ran smack dab into my BIL and his wife. So what does one do when you haven't seen each other for 48 hours, well it's time for a coffee. So we did partake till the groomer called that the Mr. was ready. They want to rent a cabin/cottage again this summer. Not sure about that. We shall see. There would only be the four of us as all the grands now have jobs. Well, except for one and he's determined to live at the golf course this year. Tomorrow I really need to do a financial update, do laundry, clean the apartment and of course walk the Mister. Its to get warmer on the weeke...

Almost There

We have celebrated 4 birthdays, Easter and a bridal shower. We still have 3 birthdays to go. We will celebrate 2 this coming Sunday. I have posted about most of the other birthdays but not the shower. Its a 1 and 3/4 drive to the farm. K parked his tractor and some equipment out and then as we came in he took the cars to hide behind the shop. You could not tell there were 16 vehicles hidden. We were all there hidden inside. The bride was told it was a late Easter gathering. J her fiancĂ© was going to bring her, but he got called into work. We were worried she wouldn't come by herself, but she did and she was surprised. We played a couple of games. Then we introduced ourselves. After that we had a luncheon. It was a fabulous time. Then another drive back to the city carrying food, and 8 dozen eggs. After, I dropped daughter at her car and SIL at her apartment, I headed home to see Oakley. He did fine but certainly  needed to go out. I was tired but we stayed up late so he could...

Cranky

I am so over winter and yet we still get more snow and freezing rain. Hard walking today. I ended up putting my cleats back on my shoes. This will last at least a few days. Sunday they are predicting +2C. We shall see. They keep promising these higher temperatures but only once in a while do they materialize. Enough of the cranky old gal. Tomorrow my youngest son has his 46th Birthday. Not sure if we will see him. I am thinking breakfast out, but haven't presented the idea to the rest of the family. This past week. He celebrated 10 years of no alcohol. I am proud of him. Alcoholism runs on both sides of the family. Sunday we celebrate an couple who are getting married in June. We are having a surprise shower for Ms. C. It should be good. 20 people have been invited. Looking forward to the drive tothe farm. Jean

Where Does the Time Go

I can hardly believe we are 1 say short of the middle of the month. How it goes so far. Easter Sunday was fun. We had 9 here. I started a rheumatoid flair when I put the gigantic ham in the oven. Was able to set everything up okay, then I was hunched over in half for a few days. It was hard walking Oakley, but other than that cleanup was a breeze. We used paper plates for everything. The gals loaded the dishwasher so I could take it easy. This past Sunday we did my granddaughters 20th birthday. Again it was fun. I have noticed my brother in law and his wife are not doing very well. She is having issues with her blood pressure meds along with her water pills. I am not sure what is wrong with him but there is something definitely going on. He is sort of a private person. Of course we all had to be finished eating and funning around before the Masters started. I left early as Oakley needed attention. The Birthday theme this year was everything pink. It rained most of the day. Yesterd...
