Groceries: 80.52

Gas: 64.09

Canadian Tire Misc. 29.00

The gas will do me two to three months. The groceries gave me 10 more meals, Misc. was spot remover for carpets, rubbing alcohol for cleaning and Draino for cleaning out the drain. The alcohol and Draino should last a few months.

I hope this is all the spending for February.

    Sounds good to me. I hope you will be able to limit your February spending to just what you've spent so far.

    If I may ask, do you have any utility bills, etc., that you have to pay monthly? Or are they not included in the no spend plans? I have monthly bills for my natural gas (used for cooking, heating, clothes dryer, and water heater) and telephone/internet/TV, etc. And, every other month, the bill for water, electricity, sewer, and solid waste collection (one bill for all four services). So, if I were to do a no-spend month, I'd have to exclude those bills and the no spending would be for discretionary spending, only.

      Hi Bless. I have electric everything, so only 1 bill for that a month. I did not include it last month but I will again this month. I also have a phone bill and internet. To date I have not included them. Having said that I notice a lot of people only do discretionary spending in their no spend months. I am torn between the two and have decided from here on in I will include my hydro, phone and internet bills as those are all I have besides rent. I won’t include my rent. What I spent yesterday is all I have spent this month as I had a credit on my phone and my internet is in credit also. I think it’s up to individuals as to how they count no spend months. I tend not to spend much as I have lots of clothes, shoes, yarn, fabric and I don’t travel. I only spend on essentials. Hope this helps. Jean

      Thank you, Jean. I asked because I have not done any no-spend months and have sometimes wondered if I should. I do keep a tally of what I spend for budgeting purposes. Today, for example, I spent $0.49 on a box of cereal when I went to the pharmacy to pick up one of my prescription refills (the refill was covered under my insurance, so I didn't have to pay for it). :)

End of September

 Today marks the end of another month and the beginning of a new age for my youngest grandchild who turned 13 today. The last teenager in the family.  My finances are in the dump. With fixing my vehicle, spending way more on groceries, and various other expenses, I have decided to not buy groceries, unless it is fresh stuff I.e. carrots, beets, brussel sprouts, cucumber etc. I want to pay off my yearly car insurance in full, so I need to put $344 dollars away every pay for the next three pays. February Ending

 Well since we only have three days left in February, I thought I would do a recap. I had hoped to do most of the month without going to the store. Did not happen I ended up going six times. I decided not to include my regular rent, utilities in with my calculation and some of it is dog needs which I am not including as his needs are there regularly every month. With his I went seven times to the store and he had grooming this month. From now on his regular needs dog food and treats will be only on one trip to the store. I will stock up. Just groceries and other spending I only had the six days but they were a doozy. I spent another $171.00 on groceries and had twenty no spend days. I had no other incidental buying this month. I hope this makes sense. My mind has a way of its own today.  I am hoping March will be better, but I will need to buy seeds for the garden. Well It’s Over

 For another year. All our celebrations were yesterday. Today was cleanup day. I got the kitchen, bathroom and my bedroom cleaned. Most decorations are down and put away. Only have the tree to do and a couple of breakables. Managed to have a nap also. We had turkey, roast beef, ham, mashed potatoes, baby beans, pomegranate salad, buns, cheese and crackers, stuffing, chips and dip, pumpkin pie with whipped cream, Saskatoon pie and cookies. We had fifteen people here. Fun, noisy, games, teasing and good conversations. she Who Must Be Obeyed made Christmas jam for everyone. We will do it all again next year with a twist. Ours won’t be on Christmas Day. It will be on Boxing Day. There will be a whole lot more people as more cousins will attend. I think we might have to rent the golf course banquet room for the day. Which means, The Golfer will want me to cook it all, then bring it all there to be heated up. He will then insist that we clean the kitchen, the banquet room and the washroo...
