Broth

Today was the day I pulled out the turkey carcass and made broth. It turned out really well.

It was a small turkey so only got two containers. It will make some nice turkey wild and brown rice soup. I just need to use up some stuff in the freezer to make room for the soup.

Beautiful day here. Not any wind till evening. We had another 4” of snow over night. The snow is one up to Oakley’s belly. With his white curly hair he looks too cute trundling through the snow.  He’s a Bichon Frisée. One day I’ll remember to take a picture of him in the snow.

Played online games with She Who Must Be Obeyed and some other friends. It’s been a lazy day for sure. Tomorrow being the first church day of the year, we will wait and see how much snow we get tonight and how windy it is tomorrow. As we go into the city for church, weather in the winter usually plays a role. Not so much for me, but the rest of the family.

I did some ironing today. It’s been awhile but with only three pieces to iron there was no rush.

This year is all about being fiscally responsible with everything. It will be a use it up year. As said above my freezer is overflowing with bounty, I have an abundance of canned, packaged and dried foods. I have an abundance of clothes. My car is running really well. I should be able to stay out of the stores except for much needed fresh stuff and practice putting more money away. We have a garden to use this year. I can hardly wait.

  1. Your Oakley sounds like a beautiful furry friend. I am looking forward to seeing a photo of him.
Even living in town and only about 5 blocks from our church, things really do depend on the weather and road conditions now that we are older.

    God bless.
